2nd CGGQC February Finish!

Not to sound snobbish but I am in awe of this top.  Also, I can't believe I did it.  This was my first kit and it was intimidating (scary & fun at the same time)!!!  How many of you are thinking back to your first kit?  What a crazy month it has been.  Now I just need to quilt & bind it...

Next...

Whoa! I had a blast yesterday & by checking out some of the other party goers out there, I wasn't the only one.  Ok, so today is the last day to submit our February CGGQC projects.  I'm hoping to get the Rouenneries quilt top done today.  All I have left is to sew the columns together!  I can't wait to get it done!  Hope everyone has a beautiful day!

Spring Sewing Party!

UPDATE @ 1115PM
DONE! WHOHOOOOO!! I had to put in Transformers to get me in the mood to finish this top.  I think the butt kicking music in the movie, helped me put it into high gear.  I LOVE this pattern & it makes me more anxious for Boutique to get here so I can make it with this pattern.  What a night! What a party! Thank you - Kelly & Joan for throwing an AWESOME party!

UPDATE @ 815PM
So, I knew I should not have put in Dirty Dancing.  30 minutes into the movie, I had to drape a pillowcase in front of the screen! Who could focus with Patrick on the screen?  I spent a good part of my time: pressing, cutting, checking email, gabbing with Cindy (she is a HOOT!) - back and forth about Patrick & CHOCOLATE!  And there were more than a few times I had to define INVISIBLE to my son.  So FINALLY, I am now able to sew.  I'm loving the chunky pattern!  Sorry for the so-so picture...

UPDATE @ 215PM
I've finally made it!!! WHOOHOOOO! I'm late but that's ok because it's going to be a long night!!!!!! So here is what I will be working on for the party...

Now I just need to figure out which 5-6 fabrics to use for this EASY & AWESOME pattern. The iron is heating up....I will be checking everyone else out.  Oh, and I just started Dirty Dancing...Patrick was such a talented actor and he was nice on the eyes...WHATEVER?!?!?!! HE WAS HOT! Thank you God for bringing him into the world!
UPDATE 2/27/10 @ 1015AM
For the love of Mary, I forgot that we have to go to town to take care of some stuff.  I hope to be back by noon so I can show you my pattern and fabric.  See y'all in a little bit!!!

 2/26/10
The fun will start February 27th.  For all the details, you need to go to Kelly's blog - click here.  Now...what to wear? LOL!

A CGGQC Finish...

I know I did a post a couple of weeks ago that the Verna top (b-day gift for my sister) was done but I can now say that it's really done.  The only problem is, I don't like it for my sister.  I'll spare you all the blah, blah boring stuff...so in a nut shell, last night I ordered some Boutique from Kelly.  There is a really simple pattern in the Fons&Porter, Fall09, pg 56 magazine I want to do instead.  It says you should be able to do it in a day.  I guess I'm going to find out.  So until the fabric comes in, I'll be working on the Rouenneries quilt.  I hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

NERVE WRECKING...

that is how I felt while cutting up the Rouenneries kit.  I'm happy to say that I just finished.  But for now it will have to be on hold, since my extra fabric for the Verna border came in yesterday.  WhoHoo!  The clock is ticking...

Blueberry Surprise - DONE!

I can't remember when I quilted this.  I must have done it right after quilting the Simplicity quilt (for the 2nd time).  Well, all I know is that it's been folded up in my quilt room for a while.  After I finished the 2nd Valentine's quilt, my DH has been picking at me to finish the blueberry quilt.  So, I figure while I'm waiting for my additional fabric for my Verna border from Cotton Charm Quilts, I'd work on the Rouenneries kit & the blueberry quilt. My DH doesn't know that I have finished the quilt.  Part of his Valentine's gift is the quilt being completed, this is what he will see when he walks into the living room tomorrow morning...

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Verna Top Done...

I finished the top this morning. I wanted to make sure I got it pressed before the Superbowl started.  Well, the first half of the game was not very exciting so I thought I'd just go ahead and do the post for my first CGGQC finish for February. I love the line & pattern, I just don't know if I like my top. Since I'm waiting for the batting to come in...I went ahead and started pressing the fabric for Rouenneries. Hope everyone has a great week!

CGGQC February Goals

Last month I had it easy, not this month...I have 2 birthday presents to complete.  So I have 2 projects I will be finishing this month.
  1. Verna - for my sister
  2. The Rouenneries Kit - for my mom.
I'll have pictures later, I just want too post my goals for this month.

I would also like to take this moment to say GO SAINTS!

    Verna...

When my sister saw the quilt I made for my little one & our Mom, she said she would like one.  I was a little surprised because she doesn't seem like the quilt type.  So after emailing her tons of different fabric lines/patterns for her to look through, she picked a few & then I made the final pick.  I mean it will be a birthday present so it has to some what be a surprise...right?  Luckily, one of the patterns she picked was the pattern on the Moda Bake Shop, and it's a simple pattern - YEAH!  This should be an interesting month because I have 2 birthday quilts to get done! So here it goes...
