Stripping...(not the pole kind - lol!)

I've had the Spring Fever jellyroll staring at me for some time now.  So, I went ahead and busted it open.  I was so excited, I forgot to take a picture of it.  Anyhoo, I made this cute little quilt top.  It measures approx. 40x59. The colors just sing 'SPRING IS COMING!!!'.

ps...let me just say - 'IF' there was a pole, I would have snapped that sucker in half. LOL!

Bar Harbor Scrap Bag...

So, here I am working on my scrap bag.  I want to make the recipe (Scrap Bag Baby) that's on the Moda Bake Shop but at the same time I want to use all the strips that are in my bag.  I'm lovin' the red, white & blue!  And pictured above is what I sewed, it measures approx. 31x72 - not including borders.  Not the typical baby sized quilt.  So my problem is - I need more fabric (TRA-GE-DEY!!!).  Instead of just jumping at the chance to do some fabric shopping, I'm just going to let this piece sit, while I think about how I want to do the border.  So while that's on hold, I went ahead and started a new project...
SPRING FEVER! I'll keep you posted...Have a WONDERFUL week!

Where did March go? & a CGGQC Tag

After we got back from Biloxi, it has been non-stop!  To tell you the truth, it's all been a blur...LOL!  But I do remember, we had a very fun visit.  We had so much fun, I didn't even take out my camera.  I didn't take any pictures of the 2 quilts.  I'll just do it the next time we go visit.
Well, I haven't sewed anything for about 2 weeks...weird.  So last night, I went ahead and picked the Bar Harbor scrap bag and started trimming the strips.  I'm going to work on the Scrap Bag Baby recipe on the Moda Bake Shop.  I've wanted to make this ever since it was posted.  It's also a small project so I shouldn't have a problem getting it done.

CGGQC Tag...
Kelly has tagged us & we either have to share a joke or a funny story.  I have 2 kiddie jokes:
1. Why was 6 afraid of 7?     Because 7 ate 9! FUNNY!!!! EIGHT / ATE ?!?!?!( I love that one.)
2. How do you make a tissue dance?     You put a little boggie in it! I'm giggling...but I think it's because I'm tired.

I have a lot of catching up to do.  I look forward to this weekend so I can see what everyone has been up too.  Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!  Talk to y'all later...

The Big Blue Bouquet is done.

I'm excited to say that - I'M DONE.  I have to keep this short because now I have to wrap presents & pack for our trip.  I won't be taking my computer because I don't want any distractions while I spend time with my mom & sister.  So I'll just have to wait to see what everyone is up to when I get back.

Hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the week & weekend!!!

THE Rouenneries is done.

French General is amazing!   I am so proud of this quilt.  I used a red variegated thread on top and a cream colored thread for the bottom.  I splurged on getting the backing that matched the Rouenneries line.  Well, when we are in Biloxi, if I can get better pictures of this quilt I will.  It's night time here and to get a decent picture - it's not going to happen.  So I'm happy to say that as of right now - I have 1 CGGQC project done for March.  I need to stop talking now and go start the binding on the other quilt.  Talk to y'all later...

Like a box of chocolates...

you never know what your gonna get.  I'm not talking about the movie, I'm talking about these...

These puppies are addictive!!!  It's the SCRAP BAG by Moda.  Teresa & I placed an order with Fabric Depot and it came in today!  We ordered 2 a piece (this wasn't our first order...LOL!).  At $7.20 each, we could afford to splurge!  So, since she had the first pick last time, I got first pick!!!  But there was a HUGE problem, I couldn't decide!  Let me tell you what I had to choose from:  Nature's Notebook, Martinique, Butterfly Garden & 12 Days of Christmas!!!!  HELLO????  Those are all great lines, how could I pick?  So, we put numbers on them & drew out of a bowl.  It was the only way to do it.  Soooooo, for those of you have gotten through all my babbling...I have a surprise.  There's going to be a giveaway!  If you want a chance to win the Scrap Bag of Butterfly Garden this is what you need to do:

1.  You are not to blog about it.  Do not tell anyone.  This ones for the girls...(cute song) (& any guys out there).
2.  Leave me a comment (you get one entry)
3.  Bonus entry for the ladies that follow me (I want to show my appreciation.)

I will draw the lucky winner on March 15th (around 8pm) and then post it that night. Good Luck!

NO MORE COMMENTS ALLOWED.  I WILL BE DRAWING LATER TONIGHT.  GOOD LUCK!

ps...I need to thank Darlene (aka SewCalGal) for throwing a cool Christmas Quilt Parade back in December.  And I also need to thank Allbrands for being a sponsor because I won a USB stick from them - very cool.  I should have done this way back but life happens, I apologize for not doing it sooner.

CGGQC March Projects

UPDATE 3/7 @ 4PM
I just finished quilting THE Rounneries.  I love this quilt.  I'm sitting on the couch with all of it on my lap - taking this picture.  Ok, I'm starting on the binding.

UPDATE 3/6 @ 5PM
The Big Blue Bouquet is quilted.  Now all I have to do is trim & put on the binding!

UPDATE 3/4 @ 615PM
The top is pressed.  I love BOUTIQUE!  I love this top.  Ok, now on to the binding...

UPDATE 3/3 @ 7PM
I had the right yardage for each of the 5 fabrics.  I followed the cutting instructions.  I am ready to sew!  Maybe I'll have a picture of the top tonight...since it is a SUPER, easy top! LOL!  I love this pattern!!!

UPDATE 3/2 @ Late
The fabric has been cut!

 UPDATE 3/1 @ 10PM
All the fabric has been pressed.  Now the pattern (Fons&Porter, Fall2009, pg 56) I'm using only requires 5 different fabrics but I ordered 6.  I still have time to figure out which ones I want to use.

I would have worked with this fabric during the party but out of all the packages that were misdirected, it had to be this one! LOL! And Kelly did everything she could to get it to me on time.  That's ok, because I will be using the 'Serendipity' (aka CHUNKY MONKEY) pattern to do my sister's birthday quilt.  So, since I'm here, I'd like to list my March projects:
1. Quilt & bind Rouenneries
2. Piece, quilt & bind Boutique
And the best part?  I just have to get these 2 done before we leave for Biloxi on the 10th (mom's birthday)!!!  No pressure...LOL!?!?!?!  If anyone is interested in seeing if I get these done in time or not (or is taking bets),  I will update on this post so I don't have to start a new one.  Ok, the clock is ticking...

Hope everyone has a great week!
