Can I pick your brain?

I'll share more later but for right now - I have a question for anyone that has made a t-shirt quilt.  My question is...

When making a t-shirt quilt, do you have any suggestions or tips?

I'm in the process of making my first t-shirt quilt and even after reading and reading all the material I had, I just want to make sure I'm going to make a wonderful quilt - for my FIRST customer! (giggling)  I would appreciate any help.  Thanks!

CGQC Goals Done!

done in Chic or Treat.  I finished the top this afternoon.  I'm ready for FALL!  & fall weather!  I love HALLOWEEN!  I can't wait to get this one quilted.  And speaking of quilted, I'm excited to say that my Decoy is completely done:
I can't wait to make another one.  I just love stars!

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

CGQC Sept/Oct Goals

In addition to listing our goals, our theme is 'Quilting the Quilt' and Kelly has asked us to share any tips/suggestions for completing this process.

Well, 'Fall' is the most bestest season (for me) and I would like to make a little something special for Halloween (my most favorite fall event...then it's Thanksgiving...lol!).  I will be making a Schnibbles - Scratch (small) with Chic or Treat (LOVE IT!).  I happen to get a jump start on it last month so I'm hoping to get it done within the next week or two.  I even took some pics during the process - thinking I'd do a post...lol!  I'll have to show you later.  I would also would like to quilt the Decoy top that I just finished.  I'm only going to commit to 2 projects because this is such a fun time/season (after the heat leaves) to be outside and I just want to be able to enjoy it and do what I want to do.  Oh and when the weather starts acting like fall - make some homemade vegetable soup....smile.

Now about quilting the quilt, I hate to say it but I can't think of any suggestions - at this moment.  One might come to me later and then I'll do another post but for now - nothing.  I will say that I prefer an overall stippling on quilts.  Yes, it's simple but for me I prefer the quilt top to be the focal point.  The pattern, fabric line, piecing and placing of the colors/fabric is what's most important to me.  Hey, I'm a gal that only wears mascara - less is more.  If I'm hitting the town...I might wear lip stick!  I know, very exciting! LOL!  Don't get me wrong, I love seeing quilts quilted with beautiful designs on them.  I might even (down the road) get the urge to try something that fancy but for now I'm on the path I want to be on.  And thanks to Kelly & Darlene, I used a pantograph for the first time.  I might try that again...down the road.

I'm looking forward to the next 2 months!

Decoy...

the top is done - finally!  I love this fabric & pattern!  I can't wait to make another one!  LOL!  Oh, and a big shout out to - KRIS, thank you for doing a post on the Angler...it sure came in handy for this pattern.  I also finished a runner for my mom but like a winner - I forgot to take a picture.  She picked Nostalgia and liked what I made so that's all that matters.

Let me tell you, after the sewing party, the past week and a half has been busy ( a good kind of busy).  It's been so busy I haven't sewed, blogged or been able to surf  blog land.  But that's okay, for now I'll just have to be a lurker and once things start to settle down I can get back into a groove.  So, my status for now will have to be 'Lurker'...lol!  I hope everyone is doing well and I look forward to seeing what y'all have been up too.  Which reminds me I need to post my CGQC goals!?!?!?!?!
