My first window appearance.

(photo taken from the JEllen's House of Fabric blog)

Talk about being over the moon!  If you thought you heard someone yell 'WHOHOO!' this morning...it was me...LOL!  My Schnibbles State Fair (in Bliss) is on display at the JEllen's House of Fabric quilt store.  She did a post showing her window today, you can read about it here.  If you get a chance to go to her blog, take a minute and read her story.  She is one amazing woman.

Clever ideas to make life easier...

***These are not my ideas...lol!  A friend of mind sent me this email & I just had to share it. (I like the wrapping paper idea & the fitted sheet).
Stop cut apples from browning in your child's lunch box by securing with a rubber band.

Overhaul your linen cupboard, store bed linen sets inside one of their own pillowcases and there will be no more hunting through piles for a match.

Pump up the volume by placing your iPhone & iPod in a bowl.  The concave shape amplifies the music.
Use wire to make a space to store gift wrap rolls against the ceiling, rather than cluttering up the floor.

Make an instant cupcake carrier by cutting crosses into a box lid.

For those who can't stand the scrunching and bunching:  how to perfectly fold a fitted sheet.
Forever losing your bathroom essentials?  Use a magnetic strip to store bobby pins, tweezers and clippers behind a vanity door.

Bread tags make the perfect cord labels.

Create a window-box veggie patch using guttering.

Pretty neat ideas!

Merry Christmas!

I got this great email the other day...

In Luke 2 the shepherds did not worry about gifts, no one was upset at how unkept the stable looked, and not a word was said about who wasn't coming.  Jesus was all that was needed to bring great joy.  When we focus on what we have in Jesus, we spend less time tied in a knot about what we don't have.  This young newly married couple had all they needed.

I hope everyone is enjoying the Christmas holiday.  I have been busy sewing but I'll take the time to share them in January.  I believe this will be my last post until after the new year.  So I'd like to wish all of you a wonderful....

Merry Christmas!
&
Happy New Year!

(ps...see y'all next year - giggle - work with me.)

Break time...

Well, more like we are going on vacation.  My kid has been asking (NON-STOP) to see his grandma...so we are going to Biloxi!  And since we will be on vacation, no internet or email for me!!! YEAH BABY!

I wanted to do a post about the fabric I picked for the quilt along but there are other things I need to do before we leave.  I'll just do it when we get back.

So, have a good!  Should be back by the end of next week...giggle!

ps...since I won't have access to email...I'm setting this post to not allow comments.

Giveaway...

In the SPIRIT of friendship...I'm going to give 3 of you out there a third of this lovely bundle.  That's right, I'm going to open up this fq & divide it by 3...LOL!  I wanted to do this last month but with school, T-ball and everything else in-between I didn't have the energy.  The reason?  Well, it was 2 years ago when I found Kelly's blog.  And ever since then I've been inspired/touched by what I see out in blog land.  So I wanted to do something nice for the ladies (I don't think there are any men out there) that stop by to see what I've been up to & for the ladies that I call my support group (aka. followers).  I'm not saying we have to be BFF's but I appreciate being a part of this wonderful group.  So, if you'd like to be entered...(I'm using the K.I.S.S method)...answer me this:

If you were a quilt, what style/pattern quilt would you be?  (I'd be a patchwork quilt.)

I will pick the winners on Sunday, June 12DRAWING RESCHEDULED FOR MONDAY NIGHT (6/13).  Everyone is welcome to join in on the fun!

Have a wonderful week!!!

(ps...imagine the song "You are my sunshine..." playing in the backround while you're reading this post....)

This giveaway is now closed.

Bloggers' Quilt Festival :: Spring 2011

You know when you see a quilt (on a blog, in a magazine, ect.) and an excitement comes over you because you know you have to make it?  Well, that is what happened to me when Kris (aka Dandelion Quilts) posted her State Fair Schnibble...way back.  I was inspired.  I fell in love with the pattern.  Back in August 2010, I finished the State Fair top in Bliss.  And I'm happy to tell everyone that it was last month that I completed it but didn't say a word because I wanted to share it for the festival.  My dh was amazed at how I kept my mouth zipped...lol!  It's a fun pattern.  The fabric, Bliss, was the perfect fit.  I can't wait to make another one...maybe in Punctuation?

Like everyone else, I've been waiting for the festival to begin...it's going to be a fun weekend of amazing eye candy in blog land.  Thanks go to Amy for throwing such a fun, festive event.  You can find more amazing quilts here.

One AWESOME pincushion...

This is what Jen (aka Miss Punkie Pie) made for me.  And she color coordinated my gift!  How cute is that?  lol!  It really is an awesome pincushion & it's heavy.  As soon as I took it out of the box, I put in right next to my sewing machine.  And the bag!!!...I've always wanted one but I don't have those kind of skills.  I'm one lucky gal!

Jen...THANK YOU! (big smile)
