Accessory Bag Swap...

Kris over at Dandelion Quilts is hosting another fabulous swap.  If your into accessory bags, this is the one you'll want to join.  She makes the prettiest things!  Jen of Miss Punkie Pie is in the swap & you might get her as your partner.  She also makes the prettiest things.  We were swap partners for a pin cushion swap & she made me the most coolest pin cushion & bag...click here to see it...lol!  I digress, anyhoo...Kris throws some of the best parties!  I believe you have until the 12th to sign up but don't take my word for it, just click here for all the information.  I'm not a bag maker so I'm just going to watch from the sidelines and oooohhh and aahhhh at all the creations when they are done.

One AWESOME pincushion...

This is what Jen (aka Miss Punkie Pie) made for me.  And she color coordinated my gift!  How cute is that?  lol!  It really is an awesome pincushion & it's heavy.  As soon as I took it out of the box, I put in right next to my sewing machine.  And the bag!!!...I've always wanted one but I don't have those kind of skills.  I'm one lucky gal!

Jen...THANK YOU! (big smile)

CGQC Pincushion Swap

I ended up making 3 pincushions for this swap.  The flower & 2 of the pink one.  They were small.  So, I went ahead and got a canning jar pincushion that I had made a while back.  Now I need to figure out which one(s)/what to send.  I guess my swap partner will find out when she gets her box...that I mailed out yesterday...lol!

Oh, and when I was making the flower pincushion I had gotten a little crazy with the glue gun.  There was this one spot on the petal that had a glob of dried glue.  Well, I found a solution, I had bought some beads & oval charms from Micheal's.  The charms had different words on them like:  wish, create, hope and believe.  So I went ahead and put one of those charms over the 'glob' and it looks so much better!  If you haven't noticed, I'm real proud of that flower pincushion...lol!

HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND!!!

I did it!

And it wasn't that hard to make!  I did get a little crazy with the hot glue gun but I wanted to make sure nothing would come loose.  If I would have focused on this one project, I could have been done in a hour...lol!

If you are interested in making this cute little pincushion on a golf tee, you can find it right here at the Polka Dot Pineapple Blog.

Pincushion Update...

I managed to finish 2 small square ones.  I used Woodland Bloom.  I just love the pinks in that line.  And then I started on the Handy Dandy pincushion, I'm curious to see how this one turns out...lol!  If everything goes as planned, it will look like a flower sitting on a golf peg.  Then I want to try the bottle cap pincushion.  I think all the hand sewing that is required is kind of holding  me back but with the deadline coming it's going to give me the push I need.  In addition to working on these pincushions, I've been slowly making progress on my Moda Bake Shop contest quilt.  BUT as of right now, I'm going to have to put a brief hold on all my fun stuff, I need to work on a t-shirt quilt for a customer.  I hope everyone has a great week!

Secret Santa

I'm not waiting anymore!  LOL!  I started working on the Christmas Wreath Wall Hanging that's on the Moda Bake Shop blog.  I've wanted to make this ever since it was posted.  I'm working on it with the intention of making it for my secret Santa partner but once I find out who she is I might change my mind.  I mean, I would like to give/make something that will fit her taste.  So I'll be doing some chain sewing in the next day or two!!!  I can feel the excitement pulsing through my veins!  Oh, if your interested in joining the Secret Santa Swap, just click the picture on the right side and it will take you to the post where you can sign up - the deadline is Oct. 8th.  You don't have to be a Charming Girl member...anyone with a blog can join in on the fun.  But Joan has all the details so if you want to get your Christmas on - this might be for you.

ps...I've got the t-shirt quilt and the backing loaded.  I plan on quilting it on Saturday.  Since it is a big quilt, I want to be able to take my time & not be rushed in quilting it.  Talk to y'all later...

The decision has been made.

After going through my 'patterns of quilts I would like to make' binder, I decided on making a Christmas Thanksgiving Table Topper for my swap buddy.  I just ordered some fabric from the Gobble Gobble line (very HAPPY FALL Y'ALL) and am excited about working on it.  After reading everyone's comments (which I really do appreciate everyone's opinions)...I'm just going to let my hair down & have a grand time with the whole process.  Oh, and the icing on the cake, getting to know everyone more.  So let the fun begin!!!

CGQC Mini Quilt 'SURPRISE' Swap!?!?!

Well, we received our information about our swap.  Due to the odd number of members - it's going to be a SURPRISE swap!  Now that the swap has been put into motion, I'm feeling really nervous.  I mean, I've never done a swap & everyone in the CGQC are like totally awesome, talented, crafty ladies.  And they will probably do amazing stuff and here I am fretting over 'How am I going to keep up?'.  I feel like dropping to my knees, arms extended, bending over and saying 'I'm not worthy!'.  I just want to do a great job...know what I mean?

I got it, while I'm having a nice cup of (Keurig) coffee, I can start thinking, planning about my project.  Hopefully, it won't turn into a nightmare...talk to y'all later!
