That is our theme for the CGQC...there are two I would like to share.
1. I used to put the Christmas tree/decorations up the weekend of Thanksgiving but it really put a strain on me. Between the cooking, visiting & shopping - it can get CRAZY! So for the past 2 years, we've been putting our tree up the weekend before Thanksgiving. This has made the holiday time more fun & less stressful.
2. On Christmas Eve, we let our little guy open one present. The catch, we are the ones that pick the gift (wink wink) and wha'da know???? New PJ's!!!! And those Christmas morning pictures come out a little sweeter when he's in his new pj's. I wonder how long before he figures out the system is rigged...giggle!
I look forward to reading what everyone else has to share. Have a wonderful weekend!!!

Christmas Memories...
like everyone, I have a lot of them. But it was only about 4 weeks ago, the most bestest, sweetest Christmas memory was made. This is the first year my son really understands Santa. He's even learned all the words to 'Santa Claus is coming to town'. So several weeks ago, it's bedtime and he goes to his room to go to bed. Not even 30 minutes later I hear something coming from his room - an odd sound. I couldn't tell if he was screaming or having a nightmare - it was just an odd sound. So I (& DH) jump up and run to his room, swing the door open and there he is - singing...Santa Claus is coming to town! We don't go in his room, we closed the door and stood there listening to him sing. All at the same time, we're standing there listening, giggling and trying to figure out if he was awake. Then before you know it - silence. We crack the door open and he is out! He was singing in his sleep. It was a sweet moment. I NOW have the video camera ready - just in case.
He is soooo excited about Santa coming, he can't stand it. And to tell you the truth, neither can I.
Merry Christmas everyone!

ZOO BOO at the Memphis Zoo
We are leaving first thing Friday morning, taking a road trip to Memphis for the weekend. When we were researching our trip, we knew we wanted to take our little guy to the zoo and whadda ya know - the ZOO BOO for Halloween happens to start on the 16th! AWESOME! So tomorrow night we will be at the Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center ZOO BOO event. In addition to the zoo and the Bass Pro Shop, I've made sure I have at least 1 or 2 quilting/fabric stores put on our to 'visit' list.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend sewing!

It's not his time to go.
It's been a very long, emotional day. 9:30 this morning I get a call from my husband saying he has been in a car wreck, the van is totaled, his chest hurts and that I should meet him at the hospital. He's very calm & cool in bad situations. In a nutshell, someone didn't see him and turned right in front of him. It happened so fast that my husband didn't have time to hit the brakes. By the grace of God, my husband & the other person only suffered aches & bruises. I don't even want to think about what could have happened if he was on his motorcycle (which is what he rides going to work - everyday). The belt on his motorcycle broke last week & his bike has been in the shop since then. It truly is funny how things work out the way they do.
I just wanted to say...
I just wanted to say...
Thank you Lord for not taking him.

Biloxi, MS
Even though today is Wednesday, it's my Friday! WhooHooo! I can't wait for the work day to end! I will be visiting my mom & sister this weekend...it's time I take my little one to see his grandma & aunt, usually once a quarter. They happen to live in a part of the land that if the weather is just right (which is everyday from spring through fall) - your knees will start sweating due to the heat & humidity! And for a healthy gal like myself - it's no fun! I just thank God for A/C.
So I used one of the tips from the CGQC tag - I sewed for 15 minutes last night. I wanted to do more but I had to get things ready for our trip. So the 15 min. made me feel like I made some progress. I also snuck in another 15 minutes to practice on Bessie. I'll be introducing her in the next week or so. Anyhoo, I hope everyone has a good rest of the week...happy sewing!

A cool moment...

Yesterday was a nice, lazy summer day (& hot). So while the guys were outside mowing and 'working on stuff', I was able to do some sewing. Then later in the day, we decided to use up what was left in the helium tank (that was left over from the birthday party)...who knew it would fill up the entire ceiling of my little man's room. So there we are, laying on the floor looking up - giggling. It was 'one' of those pretty neat moments - know what I mean? The kind of moment I hope he will remember forever. What kid would not want a room full of balloons?
